I thought this was a great overview of psychology. It would be a great resource for someone studying this subject in college and need resources to include in their work. Also, it would be good for anyone that wants to understand themselves better.Garron covers topics like the expectancy theory, equity theory, goal setting theory and more. I really liked the goal setting chapter because he talks about motivation and what gets us to do things. I think that is really important to understand if you are going to be a more motivated person. Also he covers the development of ethics using Piaget's theory.Overall, I think this is a detailed book and gives you a good understanding of the basics of psychology.
This book really dives into the different theories behind motivation - what are the basic desires behind human action? The concepts described could really be applied to a lot of situations but I think this knowledge is especially helpful in business situations. Psychology is a building block to learning about marketing and I think this book could inspire some good campaign ideas. That's the reason I initially picked it up. Reason for reading aside, this is a really great guide to several well known theories in psychology and they are outlined in a much better way than in your psych class in college. If its a topic you're interested in, I recommend this ebook.
What a great read!! As a new Manager, I found solid guidance as it relates to motivating my team and myself. Loved that the information was not too technical in terms of the jargon.
Very hard to follow, every other word is "motivation". Over 200 pages of pounding the word into your head.
