I work in health care, so appreciated the character's long hours and striving for excellence in giving care. I liked the book in general; it was not clear to me why the male resident returned to the hospital and had "special" priviliges until he betrays his co-presenter by taking the lead and presenting by himself. I also thought he did not try hard enough to let her know what was going on leading up to the actualy betrayal. His father's character could have been developed a bit more. I would recommend the book to others.
An amazing well written sweet clean romance. Its full of loss, fears, insecurities, lots of drama, instant connection, secrets, sadness, and love. I really enjoyed reading how these two driven doctors learn to trust each other releasing their insecurities and learn to trust after a not so good meeting and neither looking for love. The characters are strong, likeable and well developed as you laugh thru their miscommunications and circumstances that keep bringing them together and watch love grow as they get to a great HEA. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
Enjoyed reading a story where the Characters and plot were very believable. A lot of the problems and misunderstandings in their relationship came from poor communication just like in real life. I enjoyed the medical story and how the couple actually worked on making the relationship better. I also enjoyed the fact that while it was a romance and love story it wasn't a in your face sex story but a good clean read where the couple even in angry times still showed respect. Loved this story and hope to read more from this author.
This is Book 2 of the Dexington Medical Billionaire Series and my first book by this author, and let me just say that I'm pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the storyline, the characters and the author's writing style. It is a heartwarming romance between medical residents Alicia and Blake. Their chemistry and strong connection are undeniable as they navigate the bumpy road to their forever after. These two likeable souls and the unconventional plot make for an intriguing read. Quite well written, it is a romantic adventure of passion and love, peppered with fear and insecurities, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Overall, it is a solid read with heart, heat and a happy ending.I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I am not familiar with medical terms at all, nor am I used to watching medical shows or reading medical fiction books. So from a complete layman’s viewpoint I was a little lost during all the patient analysis discussions and presentation prep. That being said it really seemed like the author knew what they were talking about. There also weren’t any ‘medical miracles’ happening so the story was more believable.The romance part of the book was fun and interesting. I loved the meet-cute! It was really funny. The little girl was cute but I would have liked to see more of her in the story. Overall I give the book 3-1/2 stars because I learned that medical stories makes my mind wander when it gets technical. Other than that, the story was entertaining.
In a time where discourse is rampant, this book is such a breath of fresh air!! The characters go through the classic plot of misunderstanding, attraction, noticing of differences and Love conquers all, but the setting makes this book extra special. The medical community is already prestigious, but to find love within this intellectual hierarchy was nice to see. Someone is always ready to accept you and any baggage you may carry, just keep yourself open.
This was an enjoyable, clean romance. Alicia and Blake aren't looking for love, and are surprised by the level of their attraction to each other. Alicia and Blake are both super smart, really competent doctors. The story went pretty fast for me, but there was a lot of drama that you'd think someone that smart wouldn't engage in. Sometimes experiences can do that, but it seemed a bit much. Anyway, I enjoyed the secondary characters, as well. I was a little more character development had been done on Blake's family. Where did he get his level head from? I'd also like to know more about Willow. All in all, a great story! I volunteered to read an ARC of this book.
This was a great story. It took a little bit to get into the story, but once into it I couldn't put it down. The plot moved well and the chemistry between Blake and Alicia is off the charts. I loved how the story developed and brought out Blake and Alicia's weaknesses as well as strengths. It seemed that they were much better as a team than apart, yet if they wanted to continue alone they could. Alicia's struggle with her niece added to the story and gave it more depth. Overall a very good clean romance. I recommend to those that love clean romance. I received a copy of this book. This was my honest and voluntary review.
